Enugu Spends Over N1.012bn On Development Of Early Child Care Education

ENUGU – The Enugu State government has expended N1.012 billion on development of Early Child Care Education in the state.

Eucharia Uche Offor, the state Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, disclosed this while enumerating the 2018 achievements of the state government.

She added that 88 three classroom blocks were constructed for Early Child Care Development Education.

She listed other achievements as computerisation and establishment of ICT laboratories/equipment and accessories in 111 public secondary schools as well as N50 million as capital grant for infrastructural development at Enugu State Polytechnic in addition to another N37.3 million expended on the procurement of engineering equipment.

“Extension work was done in the construction/reconstruction of the seven district hospitals in the states, including but not limited to the renovation and upgrading of Poly Clinics, Asata, Udi District Hospital, Nsukka General Hospital, construction of a bungalow at Uwani Health Centre and upgrading of three health centres selected across the three Senatorial zones of the state,” she said.

The commissioner thereby re-assured of the determination of the state government to continue the construction and reconstruction of social amenities that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

“We are committed in making Enugu State one of the three most economically states in the country by executing developmental projects that will improve the living standard of the citizens,” she said.
